about me

I started creating websites about 20 years ago, while still being attending school. I learned the basics of HTML and CSS as a student and was thrilled by the opportunities that arose with those tools. Suddenly I was able to create something I could make available to a wide audience through the world wide web. This sparked my interest to learn more about it and led to becoming self-employed at the age of 18.

tools, technologies, know-how

HTML and CSS, the main technologies I work with, have developed further and continue to do so. This is one of the reasons I enjoy creating websites: there is always something new to learn, new features to try out and things to improve.

I not only gained a deep understanding web technologies, but also related technologies and topics. JavaScript, performance optimization and search engine optimization (SEO) are just some of the tools and techniques I work with on a daily basis.
I am also a WebAccessibility expert.

In the last few years, Craft CMS became my go-to CMS. Not only I appreciate it's modern approach and capabilites. My clients tell me they are very happy with how intuitive and straight-forward it is to manage the contents on their websites when using Craft CMS.

how I usually work

My projects often start with an inquiry by a graphic studio / designer. When clients get in touch with me directly, I usually refer them to someone of my network. I'm usually not deeply involved in the designing part and strategic considerations. But I'm of course happy to give input or share my opinion in case it's helpful. As soon as those tasks are well advanced, I'm happy to look over the status quo to send an estimate and my availability.

After I started the development I will mainly be in touch with the designer to discuss details and get first feedbacks for my implementations. As soon as the designer gives their ok, the client will get involved too. Then it's time to also share feedback and start adding content.
During this phase it often occurs that changes to the design and implementation need to be made. When those adaptions are done, the final testing from all parties (me, designer and client) is completed and the contents finalized, the website can go live and is handed off to the client.
I provide a manual for managing the contents (usually in form of self-recorded videos) as well as an online or in-person training if requested.
After that, I'm available in case changes need to be done, extentions are necessary or something needs to get fixed. I do not offer taking care of contents of the websites but am happy to assist in case help is needed.

The described procedure is not set in stone though. I do my best to adapt to the needs of my clients. Please also have a look at my terms and conditions for details.

values

I'm especially happy to work on projects related to art, culture, education, social affairs and environment protection. It's important to me to work in an open-minded, discrimination-free and esteeming environment.

Regarding the way I work, I consider myself reliable, solution-focused, pragmatic and having a keen eye for design.
